In one our previous articles, we listed a bunch of IM apps that are freeware or shareware to aid you IMing via a web browser or app. While having troubles one day using the OZ IM app (apparently, this is a known issue to T-Mobile!) to log into AIM and Yahoo Messenger, it was time to try something different.

As luck would have it, timing came into play and AgileMobile launched beta version of their new IM app.

Have a try!

Actually the current beta version of Agile was released on 6/8, so this isn't actually "new" news. And considering it's still in beta, be expected to run into some annoying bugs. For one, if your data connection is severed for whatever reason, Agile usually hogs up the entire system trying to reconnect.. sometimes it takes so long you have to reboot to get out of it. Also the notifications don't work very well when using JABBER (XMLL), and the "wake device" feature is currently broken. I also hear they've removed the PTT (Push-To-Talk) function.. which a lot of people liked. And there is also a "ghosting" problem with buddies sometimes, where you'll open a chat window with a buddy to begin a new conversation, and their reply will come in under a new window (and sometimes you'll be sitting there waiting for them to respond in the wrong one). I personally use this client though, because when it does work right, it works pretty good, and I don't mind testing it and reporting bugs to the author.
