If you have a MDA or 8125 or any other flavor of phone running on the HTC Wizard platform, you can now unlock and relock the simlock on your phone so that you can switch GSM carriers at will by simply swapping sim chips/cards. It has been tested on various devices in overseas as well as here in the USA on Cingular/AT&T and T-Mobile's networks.
This article is our re-worded version of instructions based on the brilliant work of some developers in the XDA developers community. We are offering this information AS-IS with no warranty. This is FREEWARE in its current state as published by its authors. We have done this since the original thread is over 30 pages long and mostly contains praise of the work. We wanted to make this a more readable How-To.
IMPORTANT NOTES!
-Anything you do with and to your phone may very well VOID your warranty or worse - it may make your phone inoperable. You do this at your own risk!!! As the authors have stated, it's experimental software.
-Your level of success at doing this depends on a few factors one of which is the version of the ROM on your phone. It has been reported that newer versions of the ROM may have a write-protect on the disk preventing this to work.
-According to the forum, over 90% of testers have claimed success using many variations of the HTC Wizard platform devices.
And on we go...

*****PREFACE*****
Below is the original post by its author. We at MDAHacks.com followed his simple directions and have injected screenshots where applicable to show you how easy it is to do. For us, all of it took under 5 minutes. Your mileage may vary... Reprinted with permission - Thanks Ricardo!:
Hello to all.
First:
I will NOT be held responsible for any problems caused by this tool.
I'm releasing the 0.1 version of the Wizard Unlocker. It's similar to the imei-check.co.uk unlocker (it patches the same bit), however
it doesn't cost you £20 per bit  .
Version 0.2: New CID unlocking abitity
Credits for the 0.2 version go to SPV-Developers, namely: itsme, Arc and Arisme...
Version 0.2a: CID unlocking abitity FIXED
Credits for the 0.2a version go to Chan, who took care of the errors I managed to punch in the script when I packed it the first time... Thanks!
Now version 0.2b: SIMlock abitity FIXED
Credits for the 0.2b version go to kpcomp, who found the missing GOTO End instruction after a SIMlock... Thanks!
I can't stress enough that this work is heavily base upon the itsme tools, so my thanks to him. Also, spv-developers and xda-developers boards were an invaluable resource.
I would also like to thank all the people that supplied their phone info in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33479
Ok, now the instructions...
*****BEGIN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS*****
Before we start, note that the SIM chip CAN be left inside the device while this is running.
1 - Unzip lokiwiz2b.zip (click to download) to somewhere in your computer
(the zip file itself)
(extracted to a folder we'll call lokiwiz on our PC's desktop)
2 - Copy EnableRapi.cab to your Wizard
(using ActiveSync, we made sure a connection was working and then just dragged the file .cab file from the lokiwiz folder on the PC to the "files" folder shown on the sync window)
(here's the file on the MDA)
3 - Execute the EnableRapi.cab in your phone. Wait for it to finish
(you'll be prompted to confirm its installation)
(and now it's installed)
4 - Guarantee that your phone is connected via ActiveSync with the computer
5 - Execute lokiwiz.bat (on your computer! My inbox is filled with this kind of error) and follow the instructions on your screen...
(execute the file using either the dos command prompt or just double-click the .bat file)
(and it begins...)
(all done on the PC side)
(now the MDA reboots)
(one more thing... here are the backed up files in the lokiwiz folder on your PC)
You can see a video file of the batch file doing its thing.
That's it!
*****END INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS*****
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q - Will it hard-reset my device?
A - No. It will do a soft reset at the end of the process for applying the changes
Q - I locked my device and now it shows only the SIMlock window
A - Get your phone showing the SIMlock window. Connect it via ActiveSync. Use the tool to unlock your phone.
Q - Why does a r2sd backup doesn't mantain the unlocking info?
A - r2sd makes a backup of the rom. The unlocking info is stored in the Disk-on-chip, a different memory space altogether.
Q - How about the CID unlock tool? (for using any type of roms)
A - Integrated on Version 0.2.
Q - I'm having problems with Unlocker not connecting to the phone
A - Disable all kinds of Antivirus, Firewalls and similar applications before running Lokiwiz.
Bye to all,
