Hi everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend. We received a reply email from T-Mobile tech support regarding our complaint of the slow registration problem. Here it is:

We are aware of MDA devices taking longer time registering on the network than other devices on the market. This slowness is related to the software installed on the device (Windows Mobile 5.0) and we are aware that all software versions of the MDA are somewhat slow in finding the network. Please visit www.t-mobile.com or www.pocketpc.com for any news regarding possible software updates or fixes. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

It looks like they acknowledge the existence of a problem but do not have a solution. And from the way it's worded, it doesn't look like they know exactly where the problem lies. If it is indeed WN5, then wouldn't all devices running WM5 have this problem? And if so, it sounds like a service pack from Microsoft is needed. But at this point, it's too early to jump to any conclusions...
