This is just like the recent tweak we posted that'll save you a bit of time when opening and closing apps by not using animations. This method applies to the Start Menu.

By default, it's set to "animate".

Requires registry edit!

To disable menu animations (sliding in/out):
HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\AniType = 0 (DWORD decimal)

To change it back to the default (enable it):
HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\AniType = 6 (DWORD decimal)

Restart and feel the speed! Actually, you may notice that it appears at time to take longer than before - that's because the animation masked the fact that the processor was chugging along...
