If you're an IM junkie, this may be for you.

One of the problems with the MSN and T-Mobile's IM (AIM Aol Instant Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger) is that it's not integrated in one panel (Microsoft had their way again with the desktop, but that's OK).

Plus, you'd have to hog up resources to open all four IM clients if you had that many accounts.

So what do you do?

Try "Jabber". It's a cross-platform IM protocol, if you will. Think of it as the integrated IM language. The clients that are based on Jabber can be found on their client list.

Jabber Clients (the entire list and includes app for all platforms including Pocket PC

Pocket PC Windows Mobile only:
imov (free)
myJabber ($)
TipIcMe (free)

RIM BlackBerry only:
VauySphere Jabber ($)

PalmOS Treo only:
Chatopus ($)

Browser-based (any platform that has HTML supported browser) only:
Chatterbox ($)
jaIMy (free)
meebo (free)

All "smartphone" platforms:
IM+ ($)

Note that all the browser-based versions offer a web-page gateway to access the services, so you will be entering your username/password on the page. This may or may not integrate ALL IM feeds into a single interface like some of the apps will. YMMV. Happy IM'ing!
