Remember, your MDA is a Windows device and _should_ act like such (including crashes/freezes).

Transferring files between the PC and MDA is actually quite simple:

Let's say we took some videos and want to transfer them via W-Fi onto your desktop:

1. Let's create a shared folder on the desktop called "aaa" (make sure it has the proper permissions - you want to be able to modify/change and give everyone access unless you want to get more secure). If this is your first time accessing the computer from your MDA, it will prompt you enter your username, password, and domain. Enter the appropriate information here depending on how your network is set up.

2. Now, go to the MDA and open up IE (yes!, IE. this will be your main interface). You may not be able to use the MDA "File Explorer" to represent the shared folder.
start

3. Go into "File Explorer" and drill into the desired folder where your files are located, say "My Documents" -> "My Videos"
fileselect

4. Select the files you want to transfer: Menu -> Edit -> Select All (if you wanted all but one or two, open up the touch keyboard and click the CTRL key and tap the file. This is just like in Windows with holding down the control key)

5. Go back to IE. If the folder isn't there, just select the drop down URL text box and select the address (e.g. \\fast\aaa). The folder will open up.
urlselect

6. In IE, select Menu -> Edit -> Paste.
paste

Here are the transferred files:

All done!

Note that your video files have MP4 extensions. You will need the appropriate MP4 codec to view/edit the files.

One example is this piece of freeware from GustoSoft. Click here to check it out!
