Many devices have hidden treasures. Looks like the SideKick is no different - must mean that there are game designers employed at Danger :)

Try a hidden game "SnowBored".

Go to Menu -> Settings -> About Sidekick

Then (now it gets tricky tricky):

Press Menu + Shift + 8.
Click or click & hold the scroll wheel.
Holding the wheel down moves the guy UP and releasing it moves him DOWN.
Holding it down moves the dude up and releasing moves him down.

Start over? Press the black button.

Not as fun as oh... PacMan, but it'll do.

By now you probably know that the FAA has prohibited the use of cell phones, pdas and other portable electronics devices that may impair with radio communications.

So if you have a Danger Hip-Top what do you do?

Simple! Go to Menu -> Controls -> Wireless

Doing so will turn off the wireless radio and let you play games and such. Note that the flight stewards/stewardesses may still ask you to turn it off since they probably won't know what to make of that thing with the rotating screen :)

Do you have a useful, awesome, or otherwise interesting hack, tweak, tip or trick?

Go ahead and post your link with details about it in the comments section. If we find it inappropriate, we'll remove it. Otherwise, we'll leave it alone for others to check out!

Thanks!

Popular with the teenage demographic (sorry for those who aren't!), the "SideKick", as T-Mobiled coined it, is a great IM device with a gaming bent.

You won't be working on Microsoft documents on this device. Rather, you'll find yourself IM'ing your friends and family.

I still can't work the flip/rotate screen as I always get the device upside-down.

With a full QWERTY rubberized keyboard, it feels quite nice. Still, it's not as feature-rich as some other handhelds on the market.

One of the better features of this device is that it can browse/render real websites just as the other devices can. Funny thing is that this only has a VGA camera and NO expandable storage. You would think that kids would like to have higher quality pix they can IM to their friends.

The UI is great with this two-handed device, so if some of the software/app limitations are ok with you, this is the "hip" device to get.

It'll definitely make your kids think your "cool" :)
